Correct fan belt for a 1964 (L75 - No PS or Air)

Can someone please explain the proper fan belt for my car. I am getting ready to install the new alternator from John at Master City, and now is the prefect time to install the correct fan belt.

I have a Quanta with the correct GM Part number which came from LIC; would this be correct?

    Thanks

Chuck, I would assume that Richard would be selling the correct belt in his catalog. The Quanta belt is as close as you are going to get unless you find an original NOS relic that would only be good for a trailer queen. JD

Chuck, I installed a Quanta belt on my 1963 300HP car and the alternator was 1/2" from the inner fender after adjusting. I measured the belt and it was exactly the measurement from the parts book, I believe 55 1/2".

Long story short, I replaced with a Quanta belt 1" shorter to put the adjustment in the middle of the brace. If you look in archives there was a discussion about this some time ago that may help you.

I have all correct pulleys on my 63, the first belt fit OK but I was not comfortable with the alternator fan so close to the iner fender..

I wish I still had my Gates belt measuring tool. Dale
