May be of interest; Mecum auction today with FI's. an L-88 and Cobras. Webcast playing now. Interesting, one '57 FI, non-radio, non-heater with ignition shielding---woops.

Which brings up a question-were there any ground straps installed on non-radio cars in any production year?

Thats a loaded question because with a 'glass body, some grounds were used in the base electrical system. The specific ansere to your question is to check the AIM for your year in the radio section and if the ground is called out with a part number in that section, it would not be seen on a non-radio car.

Do we know if this will also be on Discover HD tonight? I will check anyway as if it is I'll have to record it as tonight is "Dog Whisperer" night on National Geo.

What Air Cleaner does the 57 have, i.e. an "Air Box"? the shielding may have been added (? why), but the 58 style air cleaner would not be so easy to change. I learned all this from my Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint models.

Stu, unfortunately no Air Box FI, advertised as a 283/283 which is still very, very good. It is supposed to be on HD tonight beginning at 6:00pm I believe. Thanks for reminding me about the Dog Whisperer!
