I heard today that Galles Chevrolet is trying to brake their 100 year lease with the University of N.M. Wose property they lease here in Albuq. GM sending out letters in the next few days. According to this person the other 2 Chevy dealers have new Cameros and they do not. Anyone heard anything? I dont know how reliable this is. Seems a shame I bought my 67 big block Corvette there new. Also 68 Impala Custom and 71 Captice. Oh yes, two 67 wagons used cars for the dragstrip. Dale

Re: dealerships
In the mid-80s I visited Galles Chevrolet and one of their employees took me to a large building loaded with older cars in excellent condition. I don`t remember about other models but there were several really nice low mileage 1957 Chevrolets among what I remember were about 50 or 75 vechicles. As I also recal, there were some Unser cars there as well. I don`t remember if all the 1957 Chevrolets were for sale. The building was a short drive from the Galles dealership.- Top

Re: dealerships
Chuck, I never was there but I heard Hickum Galles(the founder and father) had quite a car collection. I graduated from high school with Lee Galles. My dad bought a 1950 Cadiliac from "Galles Cadiliac on Central". They bought the Cherolet dealership and younger brother Rick ran it. He was in Indy pretty heavy at one time. They moved the Cad. dealership out to north San Mateo, and Lee Galles ran that. Before Lee died we used to use his conference hall for our Lionel train meets. Hate to see it go. Dale- Top
