63 aux heater duct

apparently there are two styles of the little heater 'nozzle' on the drivers side on 63's, any opinions, one of them is off of a nov car , but i don't remember which one, thanks doug

The one on my April car looks like the one on the right. I have one from an October car and it looks like the one on the left.

Use the second picture as a point of reference.

thanks harry, that was the guess i would have made, but wanted to be sure, i wonder what the extra clearance was for, not much up there except for the heater cable and wire harnesses, thanks again, doug

As I recall there were 3 different boxes in 63. The first one was short lived. The second also had that wild looking hinge configuration that would jam and the third lasted till the end of 67. There were also two different Y ducts. The first design did not fit the late 63 to 67 box. and the second design did not fit the earlier boxes. I think the snout changed shape as the configuration of the entire inner box changed.

I'm about to install the heater diffuser on my April car. Very simple and basic question......what type of screw did you use to attach it to the heater box?

The same screw used to attach the Y duct.
