    1967 standard steering column

Could someone help with these two questions :
    1. Where should the plactic spacer / washer in the pic (arrow pointing) under the mesh gage be installed , above or below where it is ?
    2. What is the distance from the bottom end of the shaft to the bearing casing ?
In previous threads the distance was established by Jim S. for telescopic columns.

    Re: 1967 standard steering column

    Del,
I went home and measured my std column on my 67 last nite. The column is out of my car, but I did not take the mast jacket off,and I am reluctant to do so as I have never done it. I measured the distance from the end of the column shaft to the bottom of the bearing housing at 7 1/64 inches. Hope this helps, Brawley
