58 To 62 Eyebrow Moldings

Looking for opinions on the quality of the current reproduction eyebrow moldings from Corvette Central for the 58 to 62 models. I have decent original cores but it will cost over $100.00 each plus shipping for strip and re chrome. I'd like to hear from members who have used these parts, what they think and how they judged. I have all NOS grille moldings on the car now and they are horrible, bad plating and the parts are full of flashing and other flaws. Rich

the repos are way nicer than most nos i've found, replating originals is pretty iffy, sometimes the old die cast just crumbles, i'd go repo or replate the new ones

I find anything I buy has to have new chrome no matter how good the reproduction is.... by the time I do that I might have just as well re done the nos part I had and kept the car closer to factory. I always repair when ever possible, but that is just me, Susan

Even General Motors sold some bad chrome parts in the 70's. I bought the parts for the front license plate assembly for my 59. They rusted up after less than 6 months use. There was no winter driving.

Rich, I asked the same question only a few months ago and got very little response. I purchased a set of eyebrows from Paragon. They claimed theirs was superior to the rest of the market and was charged accordingly. I kept my old ones in ok condition incase I ever needed to get them chromed up.
It's a no brainer Rich buy new ones from Corvette Central they are the cheapest. You will save a 100 plus and put the old ones away in a box marked originals ?
Hey Rich what car is the eye brow for yours has black paint on them. Were you thinking of selling a pair of chrome ones !! Stewy

I would recommend buying the eyebrows over rechroming. I started to rechrome and started after the first one was stripped. I ended up purchasing one NOS set from a GM dealer and the other set from Corvette Specialties of Maryland. I also purchased the grill teeth from them and was very pleased with the quality of all the parts from Corvette Specialties of Maryland.

Not sure I understand. All of the eyebrow moldings from 58 to 62 were chrome. These are for the black 62 and the NOS set that have been on it for a while just doesn't cut it. I want something nicer.
