    Nice Hotel in Bowling Green?

    Hi,

Perhaps you saw the post of sander....well I am one of those guys joining him.

Since we will visit Bowling Green, does anybody of you have a suggestion on a nice and cosy hotel close to the museum and factory site?

    Thx

    Mike

I believe the closest is The Old Country Inn. If there is an event going on it will likely fill first, and I didn't think too highly of it last time I stayed there when the Regional was there in 2003 or so. There is a Day's Inn (I think that is the name) on the side of the road by the plant, but I haven't stayed there since it changed management.

I prefer to go to Exit 22 to the Hampton Inn, but that is just me. Others will offer their opinions and more recent experiences at the two near-by establishments.

There are many nicer hotels at exit 22. Probably 15-20 different ones depending on your tastes and budgets.

Super 8 is nice. I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. I also stayed at the Best Western at exit 22 last fall. It was OK too. Plenty of choices. Super 8 doesn't get any closer though.

When I did the buyers/photo tour in December stayed at the Super8...just outside the plant and directly across from the museum...was recommended by Lori from the museum....she sort of hinted not to stay at the old country inn...like Tom said...nothing closer...

Super 8 is what I should have said for the second closest option. I think maybe it was a Days Inn when I stayed there last.

I believe a group of us stayed at a Drury Inn when we were down there a couple years back. For those long road trips they have a complimentary 2 hour "happy hour" to get the dust out of your mouth. We stay at a Drury when we go to Paducah for the Four Rivers Car Clubs "Vettes on the River". Can't beat their hospitality. Shooter

When we work the Hot Rod reunion, we stay at the News Inn. Small rooms cheap price but clean. NHRA pays so we stay there. Don Garlits stays there also. June 19th 20th 21st for the reunion. Dale

We have stayed at Super 8 and Hampton Inn (free breakfast) and both were nice. Will stay at each again. As was mentioned there are nice hotels at Exit 22 (south side of town, museum and factory is on the north side).

One place in Missouri to be sure to go to is Lamberts Cafe (www.throwedrolls.com) located in Sikeston and Ozark, Missouri.
They throw your dinner rolls to you across the room.

If you want a very casual, but good food place to eat. There is a little dive behind the Harley Dealership off of exit 22. I think it is the Motor City Diner. Just a neat little bar food place suggestion.
