Re: Blue door sticker
I took a good digital picture, and sent it to him. He replicated it exactly including the fonts, smudges and the degree of crookedness (sp) Looks great. It will still look newer than it should but somethings you cant get around. ...cost $25

Re: Blue door sticker
I got one from ECS Automotive @ 636-207-7767 or www.ecsautomotive.com for my early '71, fonts, spacing and angle of stamping were exactly as my original that had seen better days. I had taken a picture of the original and sent it to him, he duplicated it perfect.- Top

Re: Blue door sticker
If you have both the original and the one you had made thease are some things that I find different from a judging standpoint. The size of the GM logo, the width of the blue lines, the spacing of the lettering and numbers, the corners on the overlay and the blue sticker, and the fonts on all the numbers and letters both typed and printed on the bare label.
If you bought one for $50. or less that passes all the tests you made a great deal. We have a person who posts often on this site who has hundreds of pictures of labels so it has been well researched.Lyle

I lost 1 point with the $25 eBay blue decal. It's not worth the expense of the more correct $250-300 decal in my opinion.- Top

Lyle, I've seen some of those labels and it sure helps to duplicate the font, spacing, etc. from those. My 1970 didn't have one to copy from so I had to get one from scratch like from the eBay one I posted. Not precise but better than what I didn't have. It came with the mylar overlay. I did research them, though. There are differences in words and lettering on the labels between the 1970 and 1972. I can't speak for other years.- Top

Steve Windham did mine and I have been happy, although note that the blue is a bit darker on his decal than I believe the OEM's were. Initially, I thought the difference was due to age/fading, however, ALL of the originals I have photos of are exactly the same shade. His font's 'prolly a little different also, but I am satisfied.Don Lowe
