    '72 W/W door bolts

    Hello All,

While installing the step-bolts and bushing that hold the wiper door in place, one fell down down between the inner fender and outer fender.

Heard it clunk and thought it came out the bottom, but it didn't. Anyway to access this area?

    All help appreciated.

If it's a non-a/c car, you can pull the interior kick panel out and reach through the vent door. I've never owned a 68-72 with air conditioning, but I think the vents are sealed on those.

In that case, your best bet is a magnet from the top. I have a magnet on the end of a spring type flexible shaft that's about two and a half feet long. Something like that would reach down there. I think I picked it up at Sears. Good luck.

            R. Kurt how did your fishing turn out?

I accdentily dropped a screw that just had to roll into the passenger side plenum of my 68 without air conditioning. I have had my fingers through the right vent but have not located the lost screw. Just not enough clearance to search. My fingers did find a short bolt that has red exterior paint on it that I have not located its original location yet.
There is a water drain at the bottom of the plenum. I have thought that perhaps if I subjected the plenum with a good burst of water that just possibly the screw would roll out the drain hole with the water.
