66 Engine orange paint

I have a motor that was painted with plastic coat orange, it looks to be a little to bright. I have original set of BB valve covers and I bought some HVT orange and painted the stripe on the valve cover, it seems to match very well. It is much darker then plastic coat. Do you think the darker orange is correct for judging?

John, There Are So Many Shades Of Chev. Orange Paint,who Knows What The Correct Shade Is, Theres Been Many A Posts About It, Most Say That Quanta Makes The Closest To Correct Orange.

Try Plasticote # 226 Hemi Orange. It is not as bright and is very close to the "old" Chevy Orange paint and less $$$ than the Quanta product

It seems like the old Chevyorange is darker
