C1 speedometer parts and assembly question

I removed my speedometer and disassembled it. I found that the shaft that holds the pointer was disconnected from from the brass looking disk that is driven by the rotating magnet. Does anyone know how to re-attach the disk to the shaft and what the deminsions have to be so that there is no interfence between the rotating disk and the frame so that the needle moves freely? Alternatively, where can I buy a new shaft assembly for my speedometer? I would appreciate any guidance with this.

John,

The problem you describe is common. You can solder the shaft back on but the speed cups are available from any speedometer rebuilder. Replacing the cup means it has to be recalibrated. You would be better served by sending it to any of the instrument rebuilders listed in the Driveline.

I echo Joe's response exactly. You can play around with it yourself, and put it in and take it back out several times, and then still send it out to get it right. Don't ask how I know. A lesson learned 35 years ago on my first 62.
