    1954 hood clearance

Got my hood cables straightened out and now closing the hood all the way. I am concerned about the clearance between the oil filler cap and the hood. It seems like it is about 1/4" or less. I am afraid that this is too close and normal vibration might cause impact between the two.
    Any comments appreciated.

Stick a big glob of clay on the oil filler cap and close the hood all the way. Then check the amount that the clay was squeezed.

I had some trouble when putting my 54 back together. Discovered my motor mount vertical bolts were not tight enough.
