    Flame Arrestor Install

    Hi everyone,
I just purchased an open element air cleaner kit from Paragon for my '69 and you have to install the flame arrestor onto the air cleaner base. I called Paragon and they said that it simply "presses" on but this hasn't worked for me. It either doesn't fit correctly or I'm not applying enough pressure. Anyone have any advice on how to install this correctly?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jack

    Jack,

The arrestor is a snug fit to the base. If the extension where the screen fits has paint on it, you may want to lightly sand the top 3/16". Original screens have a stop built into the screen which will tell you it's on far enough.

Jack, had the same problem with my 67. Used a medium flat blade and hit with a hammer in 3 spots, it's on now. It is a snug, snug, did I say it is a snug fit? Bill
