    Adjusting vent window frame

Anybody that can help with how to adjust the frame on the door.
Have installed new weather strips and now the frame is pointing outwards on both sides when the door is closed.
I have had the frames of from the doors since the car has been repainted.
All adjustment screws are in the bottom but I can not get the frame to follow the line of the windshield.

    Bo,

several things to do here but I'll start out simple.
First I assume by your post that they fit before the new weatherstriping was installed. So the key to getting the doors to close easily and fit well is to get all contact points to hit at the same time.
Close the door slowly watching the front to see what is making contact first. If it is the windshield vertical post weatherstrip the you should try to make sure that the stainless chanells are adjusted all the way into the jamb (they have large circular holes with large head screws) you would be suprised at how much movement you can get. You also can ream the holes out on the channel for more adjustment.
If that does not help. Then I would take a heat gun and really warm up the post weathersrtip and while it is still hot close the door and hold pressure on it untill the weatherstrip has cooled. Repeat this process several times. If that does not work Let me know and I can let you know what else you can do to the vent frame itself to increase adjustment.
I almost forgot to say you also should get a couple of nylon tie straps and wrap them around the frames and put slight inward pressure on them in the closed position to help them seat the weatherstrip. I have had to let coupe doors sit for a week with tension on them before the doors would close right.
