Judging Dealer installed items

I hear people say I would have my Corvette judged but I added one or two non- factory item and could never win an award. Yes you can if your Corvette is close to factory correct even tho you may have added a few holes or items. So I thought I would pass on the fact that I got flight wards with my 55 and the judges were good to me.
My added right side mirror , tissue dispenser , oil eye, vacuum ash tray,cigar lighter,car clock,radiator filter,electric curb feelers, bubble top, dint lose me any judging points but the holes I added did lose me points to install them because I added non-factory hole to the body which I correctly deserved .Having GM accessory wire wheels I lost points also, having GM accessory hand held spot light, gas pedal cover, too kit, flares just to show don't lose points.
One good example of using a non- original item are my added (look out mirrors as seen here). The judges judge the 55 mirror and over look the added after market ones because the mirror was Correct .
If your goal is to have a 99 point top flight go by the JM but if your looking to enjoy and have fun attending with the Corvette you love go for it ,if we make flight or not doesn't matter to us ( people do) we enjoy what our 55 is not what some one may say. When we won the Pink Ladies Choice Ribbon it felt great

Other then my many accessories I keep my 55 as close to being original as I can , I support what NCRS is all about but enjoy driving my 55 and having accessories is what makes me happy . I'll never have a trailer queen or have a 99 point NCRS Corvette or wont one "that my decision" I do get jalousie of trailer queens but that's not me!

Forgot to mention I also have an aftermarket 4 way flasher added to my 63 that I installed way back when for safety reasons, but you'd really have to look hard to find it. I mounted it way up under the dash where I can just barely feel to find it now. It was, as I recall, a nightmare to wire up, specially working under the dash. But that was when I was much younger and could turn myself into a pretzel.
