    '72 A/C wire harness

    Hello Everyone,

The task before me is to replace the A/C wire harness. From the archives looks like it best to remove the radio and some of the A/C ducts behind the lower dash panels and I've read the warnings about the center gauge panel, etc.

I'm looking for opinions/tips for doing this as this is the first time working behind the dash.

I replaced the A/C wiring harness on my '69 a few years ago since I already had the dash out to replace the heater core. As I recall, the wiring was pretty much contained behind the center gauge cluster so at a minimum I would recommend taking that out. I don't believe there were any wires that went behind the left side dash. Most of the work is routing the wiring in the engine compartment and, for the original look, wrapping it back up to the engine harness from the firewall to the evaporator case. I had to undo my work a few times since I didn't get it assembled properly and the wires wouldn't all reach were they were supposed to.

I took pictures along the way and will take a look tonight and see if there are any I can post that might help you.

    Jay
