Hello everyone,
I've been hearing several explanations regarding proper startup of a cold engine. What do you guys feel the best way to start up a cold engine to preclude unnecessary wear and how should the entire car be warmed up? That is, should I crank the car without stating it to build up oil pressure, start it and immediately go to 2000 rpm or so to build up oil pressure??? We live on a dirt road (have a 500 ft asphalt drive though) so I have trailer some of my vettes but obviously have to start them to get on the trailer. . Should I drive up and down the drive for a few minutes to warm them up properly or is this necessary?
As usual, much thanks,
Jerry
