I have a 1969 427/400 with TI. The coil I have is an original service replacement coil with 207 embossed on the lower section of the can. I know the 263 coil would be original and correct for this car.
My question is how is the coil number judged? If I position the coil number in the gap of the coil bracket it puts one of the terminals very close to the wire grounding lug of the ignition shielding. I really don't want to do that. If I turn it a 1/4 turn the number is not visable under the coil bracket. I haven't put the shielding back on so it may not be visable anyway.
What is the proper positioning for the coil for judging? Or, because it is a 207 does it even matter?
