    Jim,

both headlights might be bad. The low beam also has a high beam filiment and if its bad the low beam will not work on high. A quick chek is to swap both headlamps and test.

      Rich,

I did swap out the headlights as my first test and the right side went out regardless of the headlamp.

        Jim,

if it was the dimmer switch then both low beams should go out. I would check to see if I had power/good gounds at the terminals with a test light.

          Jim,

I also wanted to mention that is is very common to have a lose connection at the H/L extension harness.

I had a similar problem with my '66 and found a broken wire. After 40+ years the old wiring gets brittle.
