Re: 1956 Wonderbar
Dan, Corvette radios power supply shielded leads exits the passenger side of the radio and the passenger car exit on top. Don't have any knowledge on passenger car Wonderbars other than that. Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: 1956 Wonderbar
Mike,
How is the speaker assembly different?
I have the correct radio for my '56 and was thinking of getting a speaker from a full size chev. How much trouble would I be getting into to install this speaker?
Thanks,
Pierre- Top

Re: 1956 Wonderbar
the pass car speaker assemblys are configured different than the vettes. they are much larger than the vette and to install a pass car speaker assembly in a vette would require butchering the dash in the vette. basically the pass car is a rectanglar shape whereas the vette is basically round and smaller. the non-interchangabilty expalains why the complete vette radios(with correct speaker) fetch 2K and upwards while the shoebox radios go for about 1/4 of that. mike- Top

Re: 1956 Wonderbar
Pierre, additionally the Corvette high voltage supply and amplifier/speaker uses transistors and the regular car supply uses a pair of tubes for the amplifier and a vibrator and gas rectifier to develop the high voltage. Pretty much first generation transistor application in the Vette.- Top
