    1972 Corvette Radio Installation

Does anyone know if I can re-install my radio/convector from the right side of the radio console without dismantling the entire console. I have the right side covers off currently and the dash torn apart. My radio is out getting repaired and won't be back for a week. I don't want to reinstall the dash etc. just to take it apart once again to install the radio. I can leave the right side of the upper console open until I get the radio back. Thanks!

Yep, access to where the convector mounts on the RH side of the under dash is very good with only the RH lower dash removed...

Jack: Can I also reinstall the Radio from that point?

        Hi Martin,
Getting the radio in and out with the gauge cluster bezel in place is VERY tight. The problem is moving the radio towards the front of the car far enough so you can get the 2 (I'm at a loss for the word) 'studs' on the front of the radio that the knobs are pushed on to, through the 2 holes in the bezel.
I found on my non A/C car that taking the plastic air diverter (1 screw from driver's side) off the heater box gave me enough room to get the radio out and back in.
        Regards,
        Alan

PS: The diverter and screw are shown in the AIM, UPC1, Sheet M1. It's called 'Duct Assembly'.
