    59 Generator to Alternator conversion

I need to convert my 59 to an alternator for more amperage. Searching the archives has been no real help.
Those of you who have made the switch, what are the pros and cons? Did you use the PowerGEN from CC or a standard alternator? The PowerGEN looks intriguing by keeping the original look.
The big question is how does all of this tie into the existing electrical system?

Re: 59 Generator to Alternator conversion

    Sully,
    I used a 100 amp 1 wire alternator in a modified 62 I did a few years ago.
Just hook one wire from the alternator to the positive side of the battery.
I never had a problem although the amp meter was not used. Someone can probably tell you how to wire in the amp meter.
