what is best to do for a tired front urethane front.
1)repair ???

2)replace /with a)fiberglass replacement?

b)new (GM) urethane $$$type

The GM piece is still available under GM #6263597 but it carries a GM list price of almost 900 bucks. However, if you're interested in originality and maximizing the value of the car, I think this is the way to go. It will start deteriorating from the day you put it on the car, but by the time it gets to the point that your original bumper is now, it very likely won't make any difference to you.

Forget repair of what you've got. It will be a losing battle.

I'm sure glad I bought my GM cover years ago...it was only $300 then! If you want original, go with the urethane cover. If it's a driver, go with the flexi-glass type. Some of the Corvette parts vendor still offer the original style urethane covers for the '73-'74, for a lot less than $900, but it's still a big hit on the pocketbook...
