    69 427 L68 Vacuum Fitting Angle???

Now that I'm straight (no pun intended) on the distributor positon,,, what about the vacuum fitting position?
I have no A/C, and no power brakes. So my fitting only has one port in which a hose runs to the white filter.
What direction should this port face???
Right now it is pointing toward the passenger door, about 4 o'clock, and the hose goes around behind the distributor toward the vacuum tank.
    Is this correct?
Or should it point right at the vaccum tank, 8 o'clock?
How long should the hose be before the filter?

    Jamie,

My car has A/C and PB so the fitting on my intake has three ports. The one for the PB points to the left fender, the one for the distributor comes out of the top and the other points somewhat towards the right fender. I would assume that the respective vacuum lines would be in approximately the same position on all cars so that would suppose that your fitting should point towards the right fender.

    Regards,

    Jay

4 o'clock is the correct position. The hose does get routed back behind the distributor. On my 69 the hose is only about 3 inches long before the filter.
