I just replaced all the hoses on the w/s washer system and can't get it to work. All hoses connected per instructions. How can you tell if the button you press on the switch is working? Every now and then when driving a few drops of water will leak out through the nozzels. The nozzels are clear. Anyone have a step-by-step procedure of what to check?

Re: 62 Windshield Washer
Take a look at
and see if there's anything helpful there. I believe all these Trico vacuum systems operated pretty much the same.
My understanding is that these systems didn't work all that great when they were new. The Maxwells are considered the gurus on these items. They advertise in the Driveline. I spoke with one of them. He insists that he can make them work reliably.
I've read that their common cause of failure is that some rubber parts in the pump get dry and no longer work properly. That pump is the black thing that is attached to and sits under the cover of the reservoir. It wants to be covered by water or windshield washer fluid at all times. Usual scenario is that the owner allows the fluid level to drop and stay low for an extended period of time.- Top
