Re: 64 fuel injection question
John --- Back in 1974, I used to own the '65 FI unit from [stamped] 5106114 (now reunited with its original January 1965 car). The Rochester tag showed unit #2642 [ie. the 1,642nd of model number 7017380] , which corresponds approximately to the VIN, making an allowance for service units and early '64 "375R" units for part of the total 1325 L84 cars of 1964 MY.
In the absence of the VIN derivative stamping, do the judges roughly correlate the unit # with the car's VIN ? The current 5th ed. of the '65 TIM&JG says "if ...(no stamped plenum)..consult with the team leader before assigning a deduction".
In that case, and in the absence of the triangular tag, would the unit # figure into this evaluation ?
