I Have A Switch That Has Markings Of (m F Or Md I Can't Make Out The Secound Letter Clearly) The Letters Are Raise Letters Not Stamp.is This Orig. For The Car. My Car Was Built In Oct. 1971.my Door Lights And Door Ajar And Alarm Switchs Are Stamp With The Sx On Them .i Know They Are Right.did They Make Other Switchs Besides The Sx And Put Them On In The Factory.thanks Bill

Bill, this is interesting. My '72 is an August '71 built car and the alarm swith for the hood (assume we're talking about the same thing) has the same ol' stamped SX that is discussed here quite a bit. Let's see what others say...Don Lowe

'MB' is another common mfgr's headmark. But, methinks the 'SX' brand is what judges look for in the door + on the hood trigger for cars of your era...Comment

The part number for the door ajar switch and the hood alarm switch is the same (at least in my '69 AIM-#3929804). It would then make sense that they were supplied by the same vendor and then have the same markings. If the marking on your door ajar switch is "SX" then I would bet that the other would be the same. Just my opinion and assumption for what it is worth.
