How can you tell if '58 was orig. FI?

What are the indications that a '58 was an original FI?

Part of the answer hinges on are you talking 250hp or 290hp FI? The 290hp used a distributor driven tach, the 250 used the generator driven tach. The 290 has ahole in the front of dash used for the tach that did not appear in the same location for the carbureted cars. Mounting brackets for the air cleaner in the drivers side inner fender panel are another good clue. Exhaust manifolds without a choke hole. and on and on... Much is covered in the JG, and the archives of this board have several discussions. Partly depends on is the car unrestored or restored. Unrestored is easier to detect.
