I have a couple of original 68 sales brochures--one does not have a picture of the saddle interior swatch on the back, the other does. Any idea when the saddle was added?

Re: 68 sales brochure question
Mike, not sure on that but do you like the power window switches on the console with the manual handles on the door?Jack Corso

Jack C -- Sharp eyes on the car having both window handles and console power switches. And what about than un-manly reach for the 4-speed shifter handle (page 10)?Last edited by Wayne M.; April 13, 2009, 11:10 AM.- Top

Re: 68 sales brochure question
Don't forget about the seat belt buckle that is suppose to be on the passanger door side instead of the console where the receivers are.Jack Corso

Re: 68 sales brochure question
I'm looking for the transition point in the sales brochure. I believe saddle interior was available from day 1 in production. By the way--August 6, 67 or 68?
Wayne--
The one with saddle pictured is a larger font D49490 followed by a space and then R-1 The one without saddle is simply D49490 like yours.- Top

Re: 68 sales brochure question
FWIW--
I dug out the 68 fingertip facts that I have from GM. Along the left-hand column, they list 8 interior colors, including saddle. However, when it comes to the chart which indicates which color interiors are available with which exterior colors, saddle is missing from the chart.- Top

Re: 68 sales brochure question
I have the 1968 Chevrolet dealers book which has every model, color chart and samples of the interiors. There is no saddle listed as an option or sample present.
I also have the 1968 Corvette sales brochure but it doesn't have a date on it. On the last page it shows: Litho in U.S.A. - D-49490 R-1 and the last page is where it shows a sample of the saddle vinyl texture.
My car is a 1968 model also.
