    Sun distributor machine

    Guys,
I acquired a Sun distributor machine. And my buddy has a '64 365 horse distributor that we would like to verify on the Sun machine. Does anyone have the mechanical and vacuum advance spec's for the '64 365HP distributor?
    thank you

        Thanks Dick, I have 62,65,& 66-72 but not 64.
I'm not sure that 64 and 65 are the same for 365 HP.

          Gene:

The 64 supplement has the specs for 1111024 only. Same as above.

            Re: Sun distributor machine

If you have the opportunity use the '65 specs, for the 1111069 distributor, 0 deg @ 400 rpm (distributor) 7.5 @ 750 (distributor) and 12@ 1175. use the vacuum advance that gives 8 degrees at 8 inches as has been discussed in the archives and the old boy will fly! Double all the numbers above for rngine RPM and crank degrees, but the dist machine will be reading in distributor degrees. What model did you get?

              Bill,
It appears to be a model 504. The upper top casting has a pair of scrolls that have listings for various cars. The setting as I received it was for 57 Corvette with NASCAR applications. I have not scrolled it yet as the scroll seems skewed and needs to be reset. The instruction papers show pictures of the aluminum cabinet without the scroll information at the top. The only other thing that shows different is where the "D" cell battery pockets are placed.

The entire unit seems in very good working condition as I ran a base engine distributor and got good readings on all the gauges. Even the "D" cell battery pockets are nice and clean. RPM adjustment crank and "strobe" lites are working fine.

I must admit I have not read thru all the manuals yet.
