How does this repro pump judge ? Are the AC letters on the side tall enough as compared to an original ? I recently installed the current AC-Delco replacement pump on my 67. It was $29, but had no AC logo or other marks on it at all.

I don't know - I haven't seen one. Their description says it's an original casting, number stamping, AC logo, etc.; might be a Paul Baker rebuild - I don't know of anyone else offhand that's rebulding the "crimped" pumps.- Top

Which fitting for 40433
I have a 327/300 1967. I just installed a 40433 fuel pump from Zip. I believe the lettering on it is GC 40433. It is suppose to be correct for SB according to the Judging Guide. It didn't come with the fitting on the inlet side that is needed to connect the rubber hose on the end of the fuel line coming from the fuel tank. It has the same setup as the one Rick posted. The only difference I could see is the letters ( his being 7E and mine I think is GC). In the LI Corvette catalog the only 300 horse fitting is for 1964-1966. There is NO fitting listed for the 67 300 horse. I found the same thing in the Paragon catalog. I couldn't find anything in the Judging Guide that spells out what fitting to use. Which fitting is correct for the 67?
Along the same lines the guide says the pump is connected to the block by 2 recessed 7/16" recessed hex head bolts. Isn't it suppose to have a plate with 4 bolts (2 recessed as described and 2 shorter 7/16" at the bottom of the plate)? Shooter- Top

Re: fuel pump
Thank you Mike. I did change the bolts out to the correct ones with the flanged collars that you mentioned. Shooter- Top

Re: fuel pump
Hi Rick,
Thanks for posting the pictures. Would it be fair to say it looks like the upper casting is an original piece with a replacement lower part crimped on ? It doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling but if the pumps work well I may consider buying one... $150 is not cheap though as compared to a service replacement with no markings.

Re: fuel pump
John,
I believe your assessment is correct but I am not sure. Pump has worked fine. I replaced it in the fall of 2007 when I had the engine out for a rebuild. My old pump was a non AC service replacement. I am not sure what I paid but you do get a 10% NCRS discount at Paragon.
