1970 muffler question

Hello,

70' 454 4 spd- my complete exhuast system is original except for right side muffler. Left side muff while original is dented. Right side muff, replaced once, needs replacing again. Should I replace only right side, or replace both?

I would replace both as the new one will probably be quieter than the old one giving your exhaust a strange sound.

Depends on what you do with the car. If your primary focus is driving change both -- along with the pipes from the transmission back, and store what remains of the original system.

If your focus is judging -- change as little as possible because there are small differences between the original and even the best reproduction exhaust parts.
