C2 covertable top latches,money well spent?

i got a quote to rechrome 2 top latches for my 66. it was $270. i would like some opinions of if this is a good investment or not. i have no idea of what NOS ones go for,if i could even find them, or if there is a big difference in quality and judging in regards to reproductions. they were in pretty good shape.

nos is always pretty good, the chrome tends to be a little weak, replates tend to have the edges rounded off a bit, $270 is more than double what my guy charges, also if your latches are badly pitted, they won't turn out very good, sometimes when you strip the old chrome off, they just crumble and are junk, good luck, cary

Bill, the extent of prep work, #of "coats" of chrome and the nickel and copper are big price variables. Did your plater specify these?

Trim Parts Repop Deck Locks

The quality of these is really excellent, as are most Trim Parts items. Whether they bring all the points in judging --I can't help there. Perhaps a C2 judge will chime in.
