    Speedo Cable Broken ----

    hey ---

Is it possible to remove the cable from the housing (hopefully from the underside of the car) without removing the entire housing from the car?

I purchased a bit back, a NOS cable for the speedo. One end is squared off for about an inch, the other end is not. Is this normal or is the NOS part defective?

I am sooooo hoping I don't need to remove the housing - that is a sucky job..........

You can (and have to) remove the partial remains from under the car. You have to remove the other half from the end of the housing behind the speedo and the instrument cluster. You have to put the new one in from the top. The NOS piece should have had an extra piece which is an end you either crimp or glue to the round end. You have to have a square on both ends. If you don't have that piece which you attach after cutting the cable to length, you might as well go down to the parts store and buy an aftermarket one and start over. Good luck!

The NOS cable did not have that crimp on end in the package..

Guess I will just get a cable from the local parts store and take the guts out and use in my original housing.

      Thanks for the info -----
