Closing upper rear door gap on my '62?

    Hi,
The door gap at the back of my passenger door is wider at the top than at the bottom. The front door gap is even and good.
Do I understand correctly that I should add shims at the rear (same side) to close the upper rear gap? How many to start with?

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Paul...
First make sure the door is at the correct height in the front,, it should be somewhat even with the windshield moulding. if you are sure that the door hinge adjustments both in the door and in the body are correct, proceed to raise the rear. A narrow pry bar will raise it just enough to slip in one/two shims. a thin block of wood with a jack can also be used, but only raise it enough to slip in the shim (s). To much stress may crack the fiberglass near the door latch.

if your bumpers are installed, you may want to loosen them up as they would keep the body from moving freely, you can also remove a shim or two from the body mount nearest the rear of the door, doug
