    C2 Tire Spare Tire Tub Question

    On the inside of my tire tub is a white label that reads:

    Automotive Product Division
    North America Rockwell
    Plastics Operation

    4-72 1




    Is this a service replacement tub ? It looks beat up like it has been on the car for a while. The JM says there are no mfg logos so I assume it is not an original tub.

      Mark,

      I owned an NOS midyear service tub several years ago and as best I can remember it had two extra holes in the bottom. I eventually restored my original tub, and sold the NOS tub, so I can't give you any more details.

          Hi Mark
          Others may fill in with more detail, but,
          Rockwell became the manufacturer/supplier of the Service Replacement fiberglass parts for Corvette (maybe others).
          That could be the date of manufature: April, '72, 1st shift.
