I am trying to determine whether it is best to restore my 63 bumpers(very pitted with some holes right through) or buy aftermarket. The resto route seems like it would allow a better fit but I don't know what the cost difference would be. There are probably many good resto shops but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Nu-Chorme in Fall River, MA. Their website looks like a good one. Any other suggestions?

Re: 63 Bumper Restoration
Best of both worlds; find some original bumpers in good condition (know some have been on ebay this year) and have chromed. Repro are a little thin and are detected during judging.
As for Fall River, sometimes they are good, but many have problems with their work (have never used) and turn around times- Top

Re: 63 Bumper Restoration
Thanks for comments Alan. I was going to ask the aftermarket people like Eckler what their bumpers look like but they would probably say they look great. I think I will take your advice and either redo mine....if it is possible due to the severe corrosion....or find some descent originals somewhere and then take a chance on one of the rechromers.- Top

Re: 63 Bumper Restoration
John
I sent my 63 Keystone Automotive Industries out of Syracuse, NY - They have a couple of vendors they ship bumpers too. MY bumpers had some pitting and rust and they repaired them and they can out great. The re-pops are not a thick and the original. I would find a good used set and have them redone or if yours on not to bad call Keystone is see what they say.
Here is the contact info, if you choose to contact them - Good Luck - Jeff
