C2 Headlight Upgrades

Want to upgrade the headlights on my '64 in preparation for the Convention Roadtour. Am interested in other Member's experiences about conversion to the newer brighter Xenon bulbs, etc. Thanks in advance. Gary....

For years I just use the Halogen bulbs... Very bright at night...

I bought some funky off road type from Corvette Central once but they sure did look goofy so I did not install them...

I put off the shelf halogens in my 68 and 70 about 20 years ago, and my they are great improvement over my originals.
Going down a dark road at night with the bright lights on, the halogens do really brighten up the road.

I'd check the current draw on them, should not be a problem as laong as they are close to the originals, but too much headlamp will cause the circuit breaker in the switch to kick out usually at the worst possible time.

Gary, some of the newer bulbs are brighter than others, but the brightness is not usuable. Color temperature somewhere in the range of 4,000

I use my headlights quite often, especially coming back at 11 pm from Biff Buzby's Hamburger joint, where all the car nuts hang out here in San Antonio every Friday night....The place has a huge parking lot and is packed!

We have corvette row in one area, all corvettes, in another area is older cars of all makes, then you have the mustang guys in one area, then the ricers in another area.. Very unique....
