after 10:00pm and still at it tonight, question on Master Cylinder finish.

Car is a 68 with NON power brakes..

just took the master cylinder off I know it's supposed to be black according to my judging manual but I was thinking I might get a more detailed suggestion.

I have a lot of krylon 1613 semi-flat paint and also some John Deere blitz black both I've used a lot lately in the engine bay. Have any of you guys used either of those on it?

What paint have you guys been using that looks close to what it looked original?

I also have some krylon "satin" not sure what is closer to semi-gloss the satin or the semi-flat...the manual says low gloss or foundry black lol.
    thanks!

    Hi Brandon
    Both will be too dull.
    You need Semi-Gloss Black.

I used GM low-gloss black. It is supposed to match the newer engines that are painted black. It worked goo for me, but I am sure there are other favorites of some of the guys.

        I went with the semi-flat krylon 1613.

you think it's too dull? manual says low-gloss...o well if it's not close enough I'll put a coat of semi-gloss over it.

I used the Krylon 1613 on my 70's master cylinder last year when I rebuilt it.

Turned out great with the 1613 semi-flat the manual says low gloss so I think the 1613 was the ticket! Almost took a picture and posted since it turned out so original looking because I looked at several pics of top flight cars to kidna know what to go for.

The new lid though it's says "exact" on the bag but it isn't it contains some lettering that didn't come on the lif until 69 but besides that and the weird looking W it's pretty close to the original but I was kinda let down it says something in the lettering that 68's didn't have on them and I bought it from paragon for a 68!
