    Hello

Hey hello I am a newbie.

I read some of the threads, then I saw:

    Welcome, Miles French (50258).
You last visited: December 31st, 1969 at 07:00 PM

I have this memory. Changed my life.

I remember June 11, 1965. My Uncle came and picked me up from ball practice in his 1965 coupe.

I can still remember exactly what that car smelt like. What the seat felt like. On Saturdays afternoons we would go out on the highway and "blow the gunk out."

I don't know how accurate the speedometer was. We would go fast.

Skinny little bias ply tires. Firestone red walls.

He still owns that car. I still love speed.

So we jump ahead a few years.

I have great garage. I have rescued some nice vehicles. A C4 and a C5. A brother with a great garage. A very good life.

So just wanted to day hello.

Welcome Miles. You've joined a great group. Be sure to wave at 66 Trophy Blue roadster that needs paint if you see it on the highways in Illinois. It's probably me!

              Hey hello Mike.

I am an ER Physician, and work about 240 hours a month in southern Illinois. I also have an office in Carbondale and work about ten hours a week. So it can be days until I get back to you.

What part of Illinois do you live in?

Welcome! He is in southern Illinois, a very nice area. Had some friends that went to U of Southern Illinois Carbondale many years ago. Great camping and outdoor area to visit. Needs to "throttle" back on those work hours and enjoy the vettes.

                    Miles Welcome.

The NCRS Road tour will be in Effingham July 3, 2009 at the Mid America campus in the afternoon. We overnight at the Fairfield Inn. If you can get some time off work -- stop by and say Hi.

I know Effingham is a long way north of you, but there will be a lot of Corvettes there. There is also an active Chapter in the St. Louis area. You might want to contact them. The address is in the CONTACTS section -- hit the radio button at the top of the page.

We all have those first Corvette memories -- those are what hooked us and keep us going. Treasure them, because try as we might we can never exactly recreate them.
                    Terry
