63 car jack

I found a 63 corvette jack and I am getting ready to paint it.
Is the screw shaft painted also ?
Is the acme thread painted ?
Is the bearing at the end left clear ?
I have seen it several ways, with one jack screw being cad plated.
The manual is not very clear..

Actually the jack was dipped into a vat of paint on a conveyer system that allowed the jack to be held by it own screw shaft. The bearing was not with the jack and did not get painted.

Imagine the jack being dipped in a bucket of paint held by the screw shaft. That shaft would be painted two to three inches on the nut end. The rest of the screw shaft was natural steel.

The paint was gloss black BUT could vary due to a lot of factors. Humidity and Heat was the major factor effecting gloss. In other words anything gloss or near gloss should be OK.

Thanks, Joe. Will try to simulate the paint dripping, as it would have, when dipping. Just didn't know what was left un-painted...
