can the window be removed without destroying the gasket? when putting it back in can you use the string method we used on the vw beetles to reinstall it?

Yes, it can be done but I've never seen a gasket that didn't need replacing. The string method is the only way I know to get one back in however if you wanted to waste a lot of time you could use a flat blade screwdriver.

the gasket is in great shape and original. but for $30 i would, should replace it. i was suprised at how easy it was to pop out the plexi. i guess swapping out all those beetle windsheilds when i was a kid paid off.Comment
