69 battery cable routing & tunnel insullation

Can someone tell me the build sequence for the battery cable and tunnel insullation on early prod 69 coup. Was the cable bolted to the body first and then the tunnel insullation pushed on the clips???? Thanks, Lynn Schwebach

Yes, I believe that is the order of assembly since the cable is between the insulation and the body.

Trying to get as much stuff done on the frame / body components before they get mounted together again. Will mount the cable and let the starter end hang until reassembly. Lynn

I would guess that is what they did at the factory -- maybe one of the guys who worked there will see this and share their eyes-on experience.

Tony Feckter was there in '69, but I haven't seen him post for quite a while. I left there in '68, but you can rest assured that's exactly how it was done.
