62 Rear Trunk Emblem Question

I have never had a 62 before. On my 61 and 60 the back plates behind the front and rear emblem were a shiny natural finish.

My recently acquired 62 rear emblem appears to have a black or dark background. Is this correct or should it be like previous years, shiny and reflective?

The car is original so I was hoping it was correct. It just didn't look right after owning a 60 and 61. Thanks again. I would have been stripping it without advice.

Bob,
The black backplate should be steel not aluminum. I've seen some 58 to 61 aluminum plates painted black which is not correct. Rich
