Heck, quit watching TV completely. The only thing I watch is PBS Nova, Frontline, and some of the concerts (HD over the air with a two-dollar Radio Shack antenna).

Get your news from the Internet, and you don't have to sit through a bunch of fluff.

Rather than TV I listen to music - right now Jimi Hendrix' "All Along the Watchtower" is playing. Grand Funk Railroad's "Closer to Home" is up next followed by The Alan Parson's Project's "The Tell-Tale Heart" - the all time best hard rock tune ever produced!

Classic rock goes great with classic cars. Anyone got a light?

Ah, yes, Jethro Tull - "Aqualung". The library has some JT, so I will add them to my list along with Iron Butterfly. No classic rock collection is complete without "Ina Gadda Da Vida".

For the first time in memory, another state - in this case Illinois - has become the butt of more jokes than California.

But I think the best recent example of stupidity is Seattle's decision this past winter to not salt the roads (during their once a decade major snow storm) because they didn't want to "pollute Puget Sound".

Uhm...The last time I heard, Puget Sound WAS salt water? Of course, they could always take the water from the Sound and "BRINE" the roads the way they do it here in New Jersey!!
