Actually, yellow is the original shade. I'd clean out the inside and let it go as long as it doesn't leak.Bill Clupper #618- Top

All the over-the counter ones for at least the last 25 years have been made from a lighter material than the originals, white VS pale yellow.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: original washer bottle for 66
William (s). My 63 has the original washer botle in it. When the car was re-restored I had planned on using a new bottle. But I found out thru OJing at various regionals that the judges really got off on the yellowish bottles. So all I did William Snyder was put my filthy "yellow" bottle in the dishwasher and used it as is.
I think there is some logo or symbol on the bottom of the originals that is not on the service replacements. But you can't see it when it's in the car.
A really yellowed overflow tank belongs on a bowtie car. Not a restored car. JD- Top

A yellowing we will go...
Surely someone can come up with a simple trick to make the new plastic washer bottles take on a slight yellow hue. Anyone tried soaking one in some yellow indian curry or tumeric? They both easily stain the poly cutting board in my kitchen.

Re: original washer bottle for 66
i just cleaned it up with soft scrub with bleach, a favorite cleaner of mine. bleach white may also help. i will also try efferdent. and last leave it in the sun if it ever comes back to vermont. the shade between the exposed suface and behind the bracket is now very minimal. i would think that an original that is slightly yellowed be more correct for judging than a new white one. the symbal appears to be a circle.- Top

Re: original washer bottle for 66
scour the junkyards for old corvaires. their plastic containers are identical and since they're located up front, engine heat doesn't deteriorate them as much as one in a front-engined GM product of the 60's.they'll be a light yellow like the vettes were when new.mike- Top
