I am putting a 70 roadster back together that i did not take a part. Not haveing very good luck with the lower dash (speedo & tach) I think my placment of the harness is wrong Not very much info out thier on the exact routing. I have had this thing out and in over a dozen times and moved the harness in between and under the braces on the left side. None of the manuals have a real clear view of the routing of this harness. The only thing i haven't tried is going over the tack and speedo cables I was hoping some one on here might could tell me where to look or might even have a photo or two that might help. The guy that took it a part made very few photos. This is by the way a 350/350 no air if it matters but i think the harness location would be the same

Re: wiring harness location 70 roadster
You're on the right track with your thinking (routing the dash harness OVER the speedo/tach... You'll find there's a foldable clip between the speedo and tach that's used to hold the dash harness in place.
It's cited in the service literature (Chassis Service Manual) as a 'caution' issue when doing an R&R of the dash cluster. You have to partially pull the cluster forward once you've removed the cluster to dash fasteners and reach your fingers into the crack between the cluster and dash to flex the clip away from the harness.
Failure to do this can result in 'sawing' the dash harness by using brute force to pull it out from under the dash...- Top
