This topic has probably been discussed many many times but I could not get a definitive answer from the archives. What are the differences in the Lower V Shields between the years 68 and 79? I see a couple of differences in each side during that period... LEFT SIDE 1. The Bracket Riveted on the one end is either parallel to the end trim or is parallel to the side of the shield. 2. A large square depression exists for the entire run but one of the versions has a second smaller square depression next to the large one. this second depression forces the riveted bracket to "move over" and thus the angle of the bracket is changed so as to still attach to the same hole in the block. RIGHT SIDE 1. The Bracket Riveted on the one end is either parallel to the angle on the bottom side or parallel to the top line of the shield. Can anyone tell me which years for which design? The Corvette supply house catalogs only confuse the issue. Help?

Re: C3 Left Side Lower V Shield
Alger, you are correct, there has been lots of discussions in 08' about the lower v shields and how to modify for your application when necessary. Look for a reply from Joe Lucas as I recall, your info. is there, hope this helps. Steve- Top

Re: C3 Left Side Lower V Shield
Alger, A post was made 1/31/09 shielding identification BY (Mark Pellowski), you will find my known 72' shields (safety mounts), that were posted for me by Mark Pellowski maybe this will help. The difference between c-3 v shields are due to safety/nonsafety motor mounts. Safety motor mounts were used for 69' and earlier, 70' and later used safety motor mounts. Steve- Top
