    C-2 part availability

I've had a '71 and now have a '70, but I've never owned a C-2 and I'm not terribly familiar with the parts market for them. I'm looking at a '67 427/435 project car that's in the middle of a restoration. It's missing, among other things, the intake and carbs.

Do I have any meaningful chance of finding date accurate replacements? I'm thinking that there weren't that many to start with and anybody who has them are hanging on to them. Whether or not I have a shot at finding these is weighing heavily on my decision to buy the car. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

dated intake and carbs for a 67 435 are usually at corvettes @ carlisle. i'd expect you be looking at 3 to 5 K for an original setup. the intakes are being reproduced although i haven't had a chance to compare the repo with the original.Figure on another 500 to 1 k to have the carbs professionaly rebuilt.good luck, mike

In general, most everything you need or want for a C-2 is available today (unlike in the 70's when I rehabed my 63). There too, the 63 is probably the hardest to find on some parts due to it being the most unique of the bunch - a lot of 63 only parts. The 67 is probably the most popular. You always see many more 67's for sale in in the drive line, and probably more parts too. It's not that the production figures were all that much greater than the other years, but guess they were the favorite and therefore more of them survived.

The needed original dated components, as well as boxed, or wrapped NOS parts are out there, but expensive. Some owners like the convenience of bidding on that popular internet auction site ePay, but, that convenience of on-line bidding comes at a price. As Mike mentioned, swap meets such as Carlisle are the best outlet for decent buys, if you have the time to search.
