C1 Side Window Installation

On my 61 Vette, I am trying to reinstall the side window glass assembly. Is the side window glass assembly installed after installing both the front chrome post/run and the rear run or must you install the glass before installing the front post/run.

In the www.glassmandan.com instructions, his order of installation calls for installing the rear run, then the glass and then the front post/run (the chrome post).

I have the front post/run installed. Do I need to take it out before installing the glass?

No, you can lower the glass with the chrome door post on. Best not to tighten the rear run screws, however the rear run should be set near the inside of the car at the top. Best thread the nut on to the chrome door post, leave slightly loose so that the inner reveal moulding can be inserted under the post. The front window adjustable stop should be on. the rear stop can be installed after the window drop. Lower the door regulator. Align and drop the window roller into the front guide. Fold the window glass seal up somewhat and lower the window glass into the door. Insert the lower guide track on to the window bottom rollers. Insert and tighten two screws, seen thru the large square opening. Lower the regulator until the two track screws holes are visual thru the round hole. Insert and tighten the two track screws...It's in...Best use a magnet tipped screwdriver.
